YENSA Skincare 101: Transitioning into Your Springtime Routine

With Springtime finally amongst us, it’s time to leave the snow, slush and many layers of moisturizers behind (for now at least!). With warmer days comes more sun exposure, humidity, and moisture floating around the air, soaking into our skin like a delicate sponge. This being the case, our winter skincare regimens that we know and love just won’t do the trick anymore. We here at YENSA Beauty have created a helpful guide on how to transition into the perfect Springtime skincare routine in order to keep your superfood complexion glowing at its best.

Dry Skin:

If you’re someone with dry skin, then the word humidity sparks a flame inside of your heart that lights you up into a happy dance. Well, maybe not… but here’s why it should:

Steamy Spring/Summer humidity allows for your skin to retain more moisture and oils; thus, it is less likely to dry out or become flakey. This is the prime time to start exfoliating and incorporate a light moisturizer or face oil into your beauty regimen. Keep in mind that when it comes to taking care of dry skin, the key is to keep it gentle and consistent— sun exposure can do some serious harm when it comes to irritating the skin or producing age spots if you don’t consistently keep your skin hydrated and protected.

Here are the YENSA favorites recommended for you:

-2-in-1 Pumpkin Turmeric Polishing Mask

-CBD Superfood Face Oil

-Skin on Skin BC Foundation SPF 40

Normal/Combination Skin

Simply put, combination just means that your skin has characteristics of more than one skin type, which can make things a little tricky when you’re trying to find the perfect skincare regimen. The key to a healthy complexion for those with combination skin is to maintain balance. We recommend incorporating light tinted moisturizers, face oils and serums in your routine so that you can build onto the areas that need a little more moisture. If your skin tends to produce more oil in certain parts of your face, try to refrain from layering on the serums too heavily. As we here at YENSA Beauty would say, find your skin’s yen.

Here are the YENSA favorites recommended for you:

-CBD Superfood Face Oil

-CBD Superfood Dual Cleansing Oil

- Skin on Skin BC Foundation SPF 40

Oily Skin

For those of you with oilier skin types, it’s time to lighten the load and swap out your moisturizer and foundation for a light serum or tinted BB/CC cream. This will give your skin room to breathe while still welcoming just the right amount of moisture for a supple texture.

We know how satisfying it is to exfoliate and reveal the instant “lit from within” glow that our skin holds beneath the surface. However, you may want to consider cutting down your exfoliating routine since the cold air is no longer managing the skin’s oils— this will also cause your skin to become more sensitive to sun exposure (ouch!). Try keeping your exfoliating routine limited to once a week so that your skin stays healthy, radiant and glowing all throughout Spring and Summer. Oh, and don’t forget the SPF!

Here are the YENSA favorites recommended for you:

-Pink Lotus Peptide Eye Renewal Cream

-CBD Superfood Dual Cleansing Oil

-Skin on Skin BC Foundation SPF 40
